PROGRAMS
Semi-monthly Leadership Development Trainings – One session is in a classroom setting with the second session consisting of an activity outside a classroom setting. The objective of both sessions will consist of leadership development and/or life skills. Each session begins with prayer, Daily Affirmation recitation, and mental/physical exercises.
Cultural & Education Enrichment Trip – During summer, the organization will take mentees on a trip focusing on cultural and/or educational significance.
Service Learning – Mentees will select and plan quarterly community service projects.
Health & Fitness – Semi-monthly Leadership Development Trainings begin with prayer, scripture reading, and mental and/or physical exercises. In addition, several of the Leadership Development Trainings will consist of physical activities.
Career Readiness – This program consists of mentees preparing career game plans, college/company tours, college/career fairs, and guest speakers.
Mentee Investment Education Program (MIEP) – The purpose of this program is to serve as a tool to assist in educating mentees about investing in the stock market. Participating mentees will make recommendations to the organization regarding long-term investments in cash and cash equivalents, and marketable securities (including equities and fixed income securities) on behalf of MB2B. The MIEP must operate within the guidelines of the MB2B Investment Policy adopted by the Board of Directors.
Three Rs Reading Program – The foundation of learning is reading, writing and arithmetic. During school breaks (Winter, Spring, Summer) mentees are required to read a book and submit a written book report. Books will either be assigned or mentee will be allowed to select a book meeting specified guidelines.
